Matt Tilford
Matt Tilford didn’t lose his hunger for adventure over a decade ago when he sustained a life-changing spinal cord injury. Instead, his passion grew stronger, leading him down many dusty trails with his backpack full of camping gear.
Although Matt has worked in the medical supply industry since before he was paralyzed, he specializes in and loves adaptive recreational activities. Some of his favorites include camping, hiking, mountain biking, road biking, waterskiing, and exploring landscapes you wouldn’t think a wheelchair could navigate.
Matt is an adaptive adventure guide at the National Ability Center in Park City, Utah. He leads people of all abilities on outdoor excursions by bike. He also works at REI part-time, where he not only helps his customers prep for their next adventures, but he also uses his time advocating for the great outdoors as a healing environment for all people.
Matt creates written and video adventure content that he shares via MattTilford.com and many other outdoor and disability outlets. He’s stoked to be part of the N-ABLE crew for many reasons, but the most important is this:
“I love showing my community that physical limitations don’t have to stop you from having a love for the outdoors.”
